The FLH Trial Advocacy Group has the legal experience, scientific and technical know-how and commitment to represent clients in all areas of Intellectual Property Law. We prepare and try complex, high stakes IP cases that are of strategic importance to our clients. We appreciate and acknowledge our responsibility to enforce or defend our clients’ IP assets. As litigators, we have handled cases in the areas of patent, trademark and copyright law, as well as commercial litigations and antitrust matters. With a national presence and offices in New York, Washington D.C. and Seattle, FLH represents clients across the country.
The cases we try are in a wide array of industries, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, consumer products, electronics, semiconductors, computers and telecommunications. Our clients range from large corporations and universities, to mid-size and growing companies, to start-ups, to individual inventors and innovators. We understand and appreciate the significance and value of IP rights. Thus, no matter the size of the case, we are dedicated and committed to helping each and every client get the best result possible. Members of our Trial Advocacy Group frequently collaborate and strategize with FLH attorneys who specialize in life cycle management, pre-litigation counseling, due diligence, FDA/regulatory counseling, FTC review, licensing and settlement. This is a global commitment that extends to clients in the United States, Europe and the Far East.
We have an impressive roster of seasoned trial lawyers supported by energetic young attorneys, scientific advisors and paralegals. Many of our litigators are Martindale-Hubbell® AV® PreeminentTM rated and yearly acknowledged as Super Lawyers® in their fields. All of our litigators hold degrees in science and engineering across a variety of disciplines, and many hold master’s and doctorate-level degrees in their respective scientific or technical fields. We have a thorough understanding of the applicable patent laws, extensive trial experience and a comprehensive knowledge of complex technologies. It is this unique combination of skills that differentiates us from other firms. We have represented our clients in cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, U.S. District Courts across the country, Federal Trade Commission, U.S. International Trade Commission and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Our Trial Advocacy Group has amassed an impressive record before trial courts and tribunals. We regularly find ourselves across the courtroom from large general practice law firms as well as IP specializing firms. Recent renovations to our New York office have provided the Trial Advocacy Group with the ability to further hone their skills in a state-of-the-art mock courtroom. The latest in audio and visual capabilities enable our clients and in-house counsel to remotely view mock presentations, direct and cross examinations, and opening and closing arguments before visiting judges, panels or representative jurors.
We understand the importance to our clients of communication and managing litigation costs. Whether through regular update meetings, strategy sessions, or planning conferences, keeping senior management and in-house counsel informed is a Firm priority. We are committed to staffing cases in an efficient and economical manner with strict case management to ensure that agreed upon budgets are met. The Firm is open to a variety of billing options, from hourly rates, to success fee arrangements, to other “win-win” opportunities where appropriate.
The Trial Advocacy Group is an important component of FLH’s unwavering commitment to meeting our clients’ needs. We understand that achieving a client’s objectives may sometimes include not going to trial. Whether through arbitration, mediation or negotiation, a favorable resolution may be achieved in many ways including outside of the courtroom.
We welcome the opportunity to discuss our capabilities with potential clients and answer any questions they may have. As for aspiring attorneys and motivated individuals, we continue to grow our practices and look forward to adding qualified candidates to our Trial Advocacy Group.
