Barry S. White is one of the founding partners of Frommer Lawrence & Haug LLP. He practices in the area of intellectual property law, including patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, unfair competition, and related antitrust matters.
Mr. White's practice focuses upon litigation, counseling, opinion, and agreement work. He has represented clients in state and federal trial courts and in various federal appeals courts. Mr. White has particular expertise in the interaction among the patent and FDA laws in the drug approval process relating to ANDA filings under the Hatch-Waxman amendments to the Federal Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act. In the pharmaceutical field, he has successfully litigated a wide range of patent, copyright, unfair competition, and antitrust issues.
Mr. White is an active member of local and national bar associations including the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the New York Intellectual Property Law Association (Committee on Antitrust, Inequitable Conduct and Misuse; Committee on Publications), the Federal Circuit Bar Association, and the International Trademark Association. He is a regular speaker on intellectual property issues and has published in various media, including the Journal of Commercial Biotechnology.
Mr. White received a B.S. degree in Chemistry and English from Dickinson College in 1984 and a law degree from the George Washington University in 1989.
Prior to the founding of Frommer Lawrence & Haug LLP, Mr. White was a partner in the law firm of Curtis Morris & Safford, P.C. He joined the firm as an associate in 1989 and was made partner in 1994.
Mr. White has been listed in the New York "Super Lawyers" 2007 and 2008 Metro Editions.
